NEET PG 2022 exam which is planned to be held on May 21st by NBE is facing some obstacles from the aspirants. They demand for the postponement of exam for about 6-8 weeks. The Mop-Up round of the NEET- PG 2021 All India category counselling got delayed because of some unknown reasons which made some of the state universities to postpone their state category counselling. The candidates who are attending these counsellings raised the point of postponing exam as they couldn't get enough time for preparation in between.
Going into the details -
All India category counselling which is scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2nd week got delayed till may first week. Some of the state universities postponed their counselling process because of that. The candidates who are attending the counselling need some time to prepare well for the upcoming exam. According to the sources from news one of the member from union ministry denied of accepting this concern as the counselling process is online in full and there is no need of any time involving process in that and candidates will study as usual. This point raised a lot of debate in social media and in between the candidates.
The point is that a candidate attending the counselling has to be prepared for every choice and opportunity in that. That requires a lot of research, data collection, technical support and time involvement in the process of counselling. The mind set of the one involved in this process is not ready to sit back and prepare again for the next hurdle. They went through a lot of pain and hardwork to reach this point which is not even promising of getting a seat. It's not fair and sensible thing to force the candidates to get stressed and depressed instead of giving them an equitable time to prepare and give their full hearted attempt.
And the other concern is regarding the interns who worked during the COVID crisis in their final year and lost their valuable time and strength to fight the pandemic. According to the data, about 5000 interns from various states (Kerala, Jammu, Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh) are not eligible to attend NEET PG 2022. They demand the postponement of exam for about 6-8 weeks and make them eligible to apply and attend. Government of India promised of backing up the doctors who worked in the time of pandemic but these interns are left behind ineligible without any support.
Based on these concerns which seem valid and rational all the doctors and pg aspirants across the country demand postponement of NEET 2022. Their valid concerns are getting support from all the doctors, student associations, some political and media personal across the country. Doctors association moved their representation regarding the issue to the government and the ministry.
"If NEET PG Happens On May 21, We Have To Surrender Our Medical Degrees," Doctors Write To President, PM Modi.
"Our main concern is why should we suffer due to this incompetent system, they couldn't finish the counselling on time and they are conducting the exam after 7 days (including the state mop up and stray) of completing the counselling," said Dr. Mahul Sarkar. (According to the Data collected from the news articles)
A huge debate and discussion is going on around regarding this issue in the social media and national media. Doctors and students are seeking the help from media and ministry to make this an national issue hoping some positive reply from the government and NMC. They are expecting atleast 6-8 weeks postponement, a valid time inbetween the counselling and the exam date.
