Doctors associations came forward in support of NEET PG aspirants who demand for the postponement of NEET PG 2022 which is scheduled to be held on May 21st.
FAIMA, AIMSA and UDFIndia came forward to support the genuine cause of NEET PG aspirants. The issue is in discussions all over the social media and medical fraternity since 2-3 weeks but there is no response from the government or the health ministry.
"Its not the choice of students to postpone exams. They wanted to give on May itself. But because of delay in the counselling of NEET PG 21 & so much haphazardness we are demanding to do it in July instead of May" says Dr. Rohan Krishnan, National president, FAIMA.
"As Counselling process for 2021 exams not over yet, Junior Doctors seek postponement of NEET-PG 2022. There is complete mismanagement by govt in conducting the counsellings" He adds in a tweet.
Going into the details the counseling process in some states are still going on and some of them even postponed for one more week and expected to be completed on 2nd week of May which may clash with the examination date. There is no proper time for the aspirants who are attending the counseling as well as the candidates who scored a mid rank which does not assure a seat in the counselling.
Many letters are issued by the student and doctors associations in favour of the postponement to Helath ministry, NBE, NMC, and other authorities. "I have gone through the legitimate points put forward by various students in favour of NEET PG postponement. If Dr. Mansukh mandviya or Ministry of Health and welfare does not immediately intervene and allow NEET PG 2022 to happen in its current form as scheduled, it will be a big travesty of justice." Said Dr Datta, General secretary, FAIMA.
Dr. Chinmayee gowda, state vice president, FAIMA also stated the same and supported the postponement requesting all the associations to take part in this.
Dr. Deepankar choudhary, President UDFindia sent a written representation from their Association to Health ministry, NBE, NMC and Ministry of health and family welfare. Students and junior doctors together decided to file a petition in the supreme court on this issue.
'Haryana has decided to postpone it's stray round & it will start only after 7th May.In all of this how is it logically possible to give exam?' tweeted AIMSA on their official Twitter Handle.
'AIMSA Will file petition in Hon'ble Supreme Court for postponement of NEET PG 2022 on Wednesday (04/05/22)' 'We demand for NEET-PG 2022 to be postponed by 8-10 weeks, also ask for doctor interns to be made eligible for the exam.' tweeted Dr. Jitendra singh, National president, AIMSA.
